Workshop Scholarship Policy
Workshop Scholarship Policy
The purpose of the scholarship fund is to encourage Club members to attend GVQC sponsored classes and workshops (including QuiltFest workshops). Scholarships are not needs based. All information is to be kept confidential.
Stipulations of the scholarship:
Club members must have been a member for the past twelve months at the time of application, and must be a current member at the time of application and at the class/workshop date.
Scholarship funds may be used toward any GVQC class or workshop, including QuiltFest workshops.
Co-pay is the difference between the class/workshop cost and the scholarship awarded.
Maximum scholarship award is $50.
Only one scholarship per applicant will be awarded during any fiscal year (September 1 - August 31).
Scholarship approval must be received prior to enrolling for class/workshop, and approval does not automatically enroll the applicant.
First time applicants will be given preference if scholarship funds are limited.
Scholarships are not transferable between members or classes/workshops.
If unable to attend class/workshop, applicant must notify the Registrar and Treasurer within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to attend, without prior notification, will result in forfeiture of scholarship benefits for one year.
