Workshop: GVQC Members

November 14, 2025

Workshop: GVQC Members

Jackie Lynn's Fabric Center, 475 East Ridge Road, Rochester, NY, USA

GVQC Member Fall Migration

Beth Kelly and Sue Donovan, members at GVQC for many years, became quilting friends and, then, really good friends. They both are a part of the "Sassy" quilt group that loves to explore techniques, medium, and creative ways of expression.

Together, Beth and Sue have enjoyed designing and presenting Fall Migration and Spring Fling workshops. They always offer interesting and innovative projects, sometimes upcycling things you have on hand. This year's projects at Fall Migration, again, will be fun, a way to learn new techniques, and a time of fellowship with quilting friends.

Fall Migration Registration Closed (class if FULL)

Sue Donovan's Project

Create a Flower Garden

This project is a combination of raw edge applique and hand embroidery

embellishments. There will also be a demonstration of how to make a woven background. See gallery below.

Beth Kelly's Project

Freehand Circles

Learn how to cut gentle curves without a ruler and sew the curved pieces together without pins. This workshop will also cover a freezer-paper-piecing method to add triangles, lines and New York Beauty spikes to the arcs. See gallery below.
