Demo Derby

Demo Derby is the most popular meeting of the club year. Members always look forward to the day to attend several of the demos presented to learn new quilting and crafting techniques.
IMPORTANT - YOU MUST PRINT YOUR OWN HANDOUTS AND BRING TO THE MEETING.
Only a few extra handouts will be available at the meeting. Please print your own set of handouts for the demos you plan on attending.

Cuddle Tee Shirt Throw by Leslie Delpopulo
Instructions, supplies and directions for making a Cuddle Tee Shirt Throw.

Gift Gallery Ideas Demo 1 by Kim Werth and Carol Manning
Bosom Buddy is a seat belt cushion designed to reduce discomfort and protect tender areas after surgeries of chemo port placements.
"Call" Me name tag/cell phone bag to keep everything handy in a lightweight 7.25" H x 4.75" W bag made of vinyl, mesh and a zippered fabric pocket that will hold a name tag of ID card, phone, and credit cards or cash.


Pinwheels by Pat Williams
Cutting instructions, and directions for piecing and making a three dimensional pinwheel block.

Crayon Tinting with Embroidery by Jean Lemmon
Learn a new technique using crayons and hand embroidery. This demo will provide all the info needed from how to prepare the fabric to finishing the project.
Sashiko Stitching by Margaret Miyake
Learn about Sashiko, the Japanese embroidery technique using a basic running stitch. Margaret will go over the basic tools and demonstrate the techniques to accomplish this 400 year old technique.

Two Color Binding by Ruth Ohol
Have you ever wanted to match the binding to both the back and front of the quilt? Ruth will walk you through the Two Color Binding technique that uses two separate fabrics - one to compliment the front and one to compliment the back.
Pastel Painting on Fabric by Kathryn Metzger
Amazing results are possible by using pastels to paint on fabric. Kathryn will walk you through the process from choosing the correct fabric, to the techniques for painting on fabric.

Workshop Fee: Member $60, Non-member $75 (unless otherwise noted). Some workshops require purchase of kit/supplies.
Non-member registration opens for fall workshops on August 1 and for spring workshops on February 1.
