Meeting Day Program

February 13, 2025

February 2025

Sassy is a group formed in 2018 made up of Marcia Birken, Peggy Braitsch, Sue Donovan, Jessie Drew-Cates, and Beth Kelly. They meet several times a month to share fiber projects of all kinds, to try new techniques and to learn new skills, while honing old ones. They laugh and encourage each other with the challenges in their art as well as in handling the stress and joy in their lives.

Shortly after forming, they challenged each other to each make a quilt that was original in design, that measured approximately 48” x 60” when finished, and which incorporated 13 solid color fabrics (10 colors plus black, gray, and white).  We each worked in our own style, creating very different quilts.

Program: Sassy

"Group work leads to better quilting, better problem solving and all-around fun."

Workshop: Spring Fling for GVQC Members Only with Sue and Beth

February 14: Two Quilt Options

Spring Fling is a fun filled day "playing" and quilting with fellow GVQC members while learning how to make a couple of new projects. Both quilt projects will be taught. Work on either one, or bring your own project to work on.

Sue will guide you through the steps to replicate a quilt she designed and made a few years ago.

Beth, with an interest in recycling, has come up with a pattern that can be used with fabric from recycled clothing.
